About MathCamp NZ

MathCamp NZ was built around a simple observation: students who need focused maths revision right before exams rarely find what they are looking for. Generic tutoring agencies, one-hour sessions, large classes — none of it is designed for the specific challenge of consolidating a full year of NCEA or IB maths in the week before exams.

What we do

We run two types of camps:

• Spring exam revision camps — 3-day intensive camps held during the final school holidays before end-of-year NCEA and IB exams. We cover the highest-value content, work through past papers, and give students a clear, confident plan for exam week.
• Summer maths camps — late-January camps for students who want to build mathematical skills and confidence before the new school year. We offer Algebra 1 (Year 7–12 ability), Algebra 2 (Year 11–13), and Pre-Scholarship Maths.

How we keep it high quality

Every class has a strict maximum of 15 students. This is non-negotiable. Small groups mean students can ask questions without hesitation, get feedback in real time, and engage properly with the material rather than just being talked at.

Camps are structured around what the exam actually tests — not what is easy to teach, and not what looks impressive on a brochure. Content is revised every year to align with the current NCEA and IB syllabus.

Where we are based

All camps run in Auckland, New Zealand. We are designed for New Zealand students on the NCEA and IB curriculum. Our tutors understand the local exam system, the standards that carry the most weight, and the specific challenges Auckland students face heading into exam season.

Exact venue details are confirmed and emailed to registered students approximately three weeks before each camp.

Who runs the camps

MathCamp NZ camps are led by tutors with strong academic backgrounds in mathematics and proven experience teaching NCEA and IB students in Auckland. Our focus is entirely on student outcomes — not on credential-listing or marketing. The results speak through the students who come back, and the parents who refer their friends.
